The Queen and Meghan's public outing is the first time the new Duchess has been seen out with the Queen without any other members of the royal family.

Megan Markle, the new Duchess of Sussex, has taken her first one-on-one outing with the Queen, almost four weeks after her marriage to Prince Harry.

The Queen has often made overnight journeys on the Royal Train but Meghan has never been invited on one.

The Queen, meanwhile, also reverted back to her royal wedding style, wearing a strikingly similar outfit to the one she wore to Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding in May. The event took place for the opening of Mersey Gateway Bridge, where the queen unveiled a plaque to mark the occasion.

They also attended a lunch at Chester Town Hall.

Luckily, the Queen and the Duchess got everything squared away.

Marking her first solo appearance with Queen Elizabeth, Meghan Markle stepped out for a visit to Chester, England on Thursday!
