The FIFA Congress held its annual meeting the day before the start of the World Cup to vote on whether the USA -led bid or the Morocco bid will get to host the soccer tournament. "Football today is the only victor".
Both Mexico and the United States have already hosted the tournament on their own, the former in 1970 and 1986, with the latter in 1994.
The vote at FIFA's annual congress, held this year in Moscow, came a day before the start of the 2018 World Cup in Russian Federation.

Morocco has been pressing Federation Internationale de Football Association for several weeks to intervene and exclude the US-governed territories of Guam, Puerto Rico, American Samoa and the US Virgin Islands because of a perceived conflict of interest.
The US-led bid had been coasting to victory but the intervention of Donald Trump, who made veiled threats against countries who voted for Morocco, spiced up the contest.
The "united bid" won out over Morocco, 134-65.
Morocco's candidacy, on the other hand was believed to be strong with support from a majority of African countries and the European confederation. It was a veiled threat to withhold USA support from countries opposing the bid.
The decision marked the first time that showed how each country had voted following accusations of corruption and double-dealing following the award of the 2018 tournament to Russian Federation and the 2022 competition to Qatar.
