Both teams need a win as they are both in with a shot at making the IPL 2018 playoffs. RCB are now placed seventh on the Vivo IPL points table, after having managed to win just three of their 10 games so far. After a great start, Kings XI are slowly slipping down the table.

Remember they leaked 215 runs in the winning cause.

Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli (capt), Quinton de Kock, Brendon McCullum, A B de Villiers, Sarfaraz Khan, Mandeep Singh, Chris Woakes, Washington Sundar, Kulwant Khejroliya, Umesh Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Colin de Grandhomme, Moeen Ali, Manan Vohra, Aniket Choudhary, Navdeep Saini, Murugan Ashwin, Pawan Negi, Mohammed Siraj, Corey Anderson, Parthiv Patel (wk), Aniruddha Joshi, Pavan Deshpande, Tim Southee. Their stars are starting to click with the bat and the bowlers are executing their plans as well.

Rahul continued his scintillating form in the IPL by smacking two fours and seven sixes as Punjab's top order crumbled around him. KL Rahul has been phenomenal in the season but clearly has run short of partners on many occasions.

Kings XI Punjab has had their fair share ups and downs in IPL 2018, the team that started phenomenally tripped soon after their long one-week break. Umesh broke the back bone by removing Rahul and Gayle in one over and then returned to nip out Tye, 4-0-23-3 Mohit Sharma, right handed bat, comes to the crease.

RCB got some breathing space after their five-wicket victory against Delhi Daredevils while Kings XI Punjab, after a brilliant run in the initial stages, are struggling with two back-to-back defeats. He would want to maintain his side's superior record over Delhi Daredevils in head-to-head encounters. They defeated Punjab in the reverse fixture early in the tournament, albeit when Gayle was not in the team. While, Virat Kohli's led Royal Challengers is desperate for victories. 5 runs scored off de Grandhomme's over. That means that although RCB has had a stop-start season, Kohli is still in the running for the Orange Cap. We knew that they would try and go for big runs because they didn't have their mystery spinner. They lost the toss and were promptly sent in by Kohli. KXIP will have an advantage today as they are playing at their home ground i.e. Holkar Cricket Stadium at Indore.

Kohli's charges and Ashwin's troops can both still qualify for the playoffs. The last game will really be interesting if we can win our next one. They suffered a reversal of fortune in the second-half of the season. On the other hand, Delhi's hopes of qualifying were on Thursday dashed by table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad, who chased down a challenging 188, losing only one wicket of opener Alex Hales at Ferozshah Kotla. They have failed to get breakthroughs because of which betsmen have found it easy to rotate strike between wickets.
