North Las Vegas police identify officer involved in Friday shooting

A person is dead in an officer-involved shooting Saturday evening in Southeast Portland, the police bureau said.

According to San Antonio police, multiple 911 calls were made about a white man dressed in dark clothing assaulting employees and customers in the parking lot with a club and a bat. The 22-year-old woman had moved to her residence in the 200 block of Sunset Drive, but was followed by her male attacker who tried to force his way into her residence.

Police report arriving in time to see both the woman and the suspect.

No officers were injured during the incident and Mr. Acosta received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.


As the officers approached the man, he began walking away from them and ignored their repeated commands to stop, police said. When the man turned on the officers "in a threatening manner, ' they shot at him".

As the suspect was attempted to be apprehended, shots were fired, police said.

Larossi Abballa, 25, who proclaimed his allegiance to Islamic State, stabbed to death a deputy police commander, Jean-Baptiste Salvaing, 42, in his garden in Magnanville outside Paris.

Mora has been with Hobbs police for about one year.
