Ryan became an internet sensation after he posed with Justin during the halftime show of the Superbowl and quickly focused on his phone rather than the superstar. "I look forward to meeting you and our second selfie together", Timberlake concluded in his surprise call. "Put two fingers in the air for Prince tonight", Timberlake shouted to the crowd.
Sunday River Ski Resort in ME tell The Blast they're giving 13-year-old Ryan McKenna and his family unrestricted season passes to the mountain for the rest of this year and the next after he wore one of their sweatshirts when he took the selfie with JT. Other than the Prince moment, there were no big-name special guests or cameo appearances.
When Timberlake's voice came over the monitors, McKenna began to tear up.
Timberlake explained, "I knew I wanted to end the show with 'Can't Stop the Feeling, ' just because I see how people respond to that song, and then cut to Ryan".
"I have the iPhone 6, and that thing's just slow, and it shut off, so that's when all the memes formed", he said.
During the last few seconds of Justin Timberlake's performance at the Super Bowl, a young boy caught the world's attention with one simple act. DeGeneres also asked him if he knew that Timberlake would be entering his section for his "Can't Stop the Feeling" finale.
"It was so unexpected that you came down and because all of this has happened, I thought to myself I really wanna meet you properly", he added, before extending an invitation for McKenna to attend an upcoming show. "Do you have anything at all for him, Justin?".
"There's someone on the phone who wants to say hi to you right now", she said.
Timberlake then invited McKenna and his family to the MA date of his Man Of The Woods tour, which kicks off next month.
"Thank you so much!"
"Yeah, definitely", an emotional McKenna replied.
