Tottenham Hotspur manager hits back at FA Cup claims

Liverpool finally sold Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona for £145million this weekend, months after the Brazil playmaker first decided he wanted a switch to Spain.

Eric Lichaj scored twice for Forest in the first half before Ben Brereton and Kieran Dowell both netted penalties after the break.

Kane's double was crucial as Spurs saw off AFC Wimbledon 3-0 in the FA Cup third round on Sunday.

"I think Harry is special".

United have been linked with Kane constantly in recent years and they are one of the few clubs who could realistically afford him if Tottenham ever made a decision to cash-in.

After making it clear he thinks the club should be fighting for the top four, and also making sure they do well in Europe, it was claimed he does not think winning one of the domestic cups is good enough for the club, yet he says that could not be further from the truth. If another club pays the type of money [Barcelona] pay, how do you stop it?

The sum potential suitors would have to shell out for Kane, however, would be nothing short of astronomical - probably north of £150m - and you have to wonder whether shelling out such an amount on a striker just a year after lumping £75m on Romelu Lukaku makes sense, especially with more obvious areas in need of addressing.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has bemoaned the difficulty of teams retaining their best players amid interest from the sport's biggest and richest clubs.

"But in football you can not be sure". That is why it is so important to work together and try to achieve all that you want.

"Of course the team and everyone we want to win trophies, but the period we are [in] today it is so important to be consistent in Premier League and then massive effort in Champions League, they are such important competitions for the club".
