Chelsea held by second-tier Norwich

Antonio Conte praised Kenedy and defended Michy Batshuayi after Chelsea's FA Cup draw at Norwich.

A second-half revival by Chelsea after a lethargic first half by one of the most expensively assembled teams in the land - even if it was essentially the second string - was not enough to deny Norwich City a replay back at Stamford Bridge.

And Norwich boss Daniel Farke will be expecting the phone to ring with big clubs asking them how much they want for the wonder kid after he lit up the FA Cup.

"To be honest I'm a bit disappointed it was not a win for us".

Norwich will be without midfielders Harrison Reed (hip) and Marco Stiepermann (groin) for the tie against 2017 FA Cup runners-up Chelsea.

"I felt we deserved to be really celebrating". Here's how we predict Chelsea will lineup. But the additional load for the league is not so easy. But that also makes this just all-around annoying, especially with the replay coming up, in which Conte will have little choice but to trot out basically the same lineup thanks. We were so close to a big sensation.

Perhaps the increased workload is taking its toll; Norwich was Chelsea's 33rd match this season, 10 more than they had played this time a year ago. We knew the difficulty of the game. "In the second half we tried to improve, we created the chances to score".

The Third Round replay will take place at Stamford Bridge on the week commencing the 15th of January; the official date will be confirmed as soon as the matches for television coverage have been selected. There is lots of Premier League experience in this group of players though, mixed with some youthful exuberance. It's a pity because we wanted to win the game, instead we have to play another game'.
