"The OnePlus 5T is our way of giving our community the latest and greatest technology, in form of a premium flagship smartphone".

Now you can only buy the OnePlus 5T in Midnight Black but a brighter colour could be coming soon.

The OnePlus 5T features a longer display. The smartphone was made available to Amazon Prime members and customers with invitation to the early access sale on the OnePlus store earlier this month on November 21 and then again on November 24. For starters, the Lava Red 5T is only available with the more expensive model that comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The Smartphone features a 6.01-inch full-HD+ (1080×1920 pixels) Full Optic AMOLED with an 18:9 aspect ratio, 401ppi pixel density, and 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The smartphone comes in two variants, the first one with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage while the second variant comes with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. However, this offer is available only for customers who install and activate Kotak 811 account on OnePlus 5 smartphone. You can get Rs. 1,500 ($23) cashback if you're using the HDFC Bank credit or a debit card, 1-year free membership to Zomato Gold is yet another launch offer, as is a complimentary 12-month Servify accidental damage insurance plan.

The secondary camera module, previously occupied by a 20MP Sony IMX350 sensor paired with a telephoto lens, has been swapped with a 20MP Sony IMX376K sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a focal length of 27.22mm.

There's a lot to like about the OnePlus 5T. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 835 platform which includes an octa-core CPU clocked at 2.45 GHz and an Adreno 540 GPU.

Since this is a Chinese unit, this OnePlus 5T runs on HydrogenOS 3.7.0 instead of OxygenOS that's found for global units. As a matter of fact, OnePlus' parent company, Oppo also has the Red colour variant of the Oppo R11S, which looks strikingly similar to the OnePlus 5T Lava Red colour.

With this giant display filling the front of the phone the fingerprint scanner has now been moved to the back of the device. According to OnePlus, the Face Unlock works 99% of the time when your nose and eyes are visible properly.
