La David Johnson, one of four US soldiers killed in Niger, took place on Saturday, his tragic death politicized by the president, who continues to feud with a Congresswoman who was close to the family.

"It made me cry because I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said he couldn't remember my husband's name", she said.

President Trump's condolence call to Myeshia Johnson sparked outrage when Democratic Rep. Frederica Wilson, a family friend, accused President Trump of making an insensitive remark to the widow.

Ms Wilson, who was by Mrs Johnson's side during the conversation, later said the billionaire "does not possess the character, empathy or grace to be President of the United States".

Trump last week lashed out at Rep. Wilson, disputing her account of what he said in the phone call. "He couldn't remember m husband's name", Johnson told host George Stephanopoulos. La David Johnson, one of the soldiers killed in the ambush in Niger earlier this month.

The CNN anchor was fighting back tears as he made an emotional plea to the president to "please stop" the abuse towards Myeshia Johnson and demanded that he apologize to her for his tweet which 'essentially called her a liar'. "What she said was 100 percent correct", the widow said.

He said: 'It stuns me that a member of congress would have listened in on that conversation. Wilson was riding with Johnson's family to meet the body and heard the call on speakerphone.

'I don't know what's in that box - it could be empty for all I know, ' Myeshia continued.

La David Johnson was among four who died October 4 in Niger when they were attacked by militants tied to the Islamic State.

She says she's gotten no answers from the government about how or where her husband died and says they refused to let her view his body. And they won't let me see anything.

"They won't show me a finger, a hand". He said he was incensed that Wilson revealed details of what he deemed to be a "sacred" conversation. She stated she has nothing to say to Trump now.

"The timeline we have is the first indicator that the unit called for external support until an hour later", he said, explaining that it's unclear whether the soldiers felt they were able to handle the attack until then. "A couple of days later is when they told me he went from missing to killed in action".
